He is Risen

This is a post I meant to make last week. I shot this with my iPhone 4S last week, Easter Sunday, right after our Easter Son Rise Worship service. Easter is a joyful celebration. We celebrate Our Lord and Savior, Jesus conquering death. I just love the smell of the flowers when we enter the Sanctuary on Easter morning. I really like the arrangement of the flowers around the foot of the cross, and the sunlight pouring in through the sky lights had a nice effect. This shot is straight out of the camera with no processing.

Worship with Family

One of the beautiful stained glass windows at our church, Faith Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, Michigan. I enjoy spending worshipping in The Lord’s house. It was especially enjoyable today as we had the whole family together.

Day 206 – The Little Church in the Woods

The Little Church in the Woods, Ogemaw County Fairgrounds

One thing I really enjoy when visiting the Ogemaw County Fairgrounds, is the Historic Villiage. This is The Little Church in the Woods located in the villiage, right as you enter it. I was able to go inside the church and shot a couple photos of things that caught my eye. I arranged them into a montage in Lightroom 4. I really like this effect, as you can tell with some of my other posts. This church is constructed from logs, and really is a nice place to worship our Lord. Nothin fancy, just a few pews, an organ, a pulpit/podium, a piano, and the presence of The Lord. That’s all we need right?

Day 148 – Roof Waterfall

While we were attending church this morning we heard the rain falling pretty heavy, followed by loud claps of thunder; and then a very heavy down pour. After the storm subsided, we made our way out to the parking lot, I heard what sounded like a waterfall. Then I looked and saw the rushing water falling from the roof of our church. This area has a flat roof and there was so much water that it was falling over the corner of the roof creating a roof top waterfall. I shot a photo with my iPhone.

Day 49 Silent Auction

We attended the Silent Auction for Faith Lutheran Youth Group in Bridgeport , MI. Members donate items and baked goods to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. There is also a potluck dinner served. It makes for a fun family evening. I liked the glass spruce trees pictured below. They look like ice sculptures. The winning bid on these trees… $5, a real bargain!

Day 36 Worship

20120205-145704.jpgSunday, after worship I took out my iPhone and photographed the altar area of our church, Faith Lutheran in Bridgeport, MI. These verses come to mind, ““For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:16, 17 NIV84)

What a beautiful sunny Sunday it was.
