This is a Day Lilly i shot a couple months ago and had it printed very large with the intent of somehow framing it with this old window we picked up at a garage sale. The print is too large and I’m not sure that I want to trim it enough to make it fit as I may lose some of the important elements of the photo.
We had a heavy dew this morning in Frankenmuth, Michigan. I took an early Saturday morning stroll to the Frankenmuth Visitor’s Center and captured the day lillies covered with morning dew.
The assignment for Digital-Photography-School is, SOCC (Straight Out of Camera). No post processing, no altering colors or light, just shoot and post. This is different for me, I’ve been shooting in RAW this year. I have made a concerted effort to shoot in RAW and I’ve also changed my camera setting to manual. So, for this shot, I changed to jpeg fine, and posted right out of the camera.
It’s hard to believe this is day 165. I’ve learned a lot with this challenge and I look at my surroundings in a different way. Always looking for a photo opportunity. I may not always have my Nikon D300S with me, but I do have the iPhone 4S camera with me at all times. Thank you for checking in and viewing my photos, and thanks for the “likes”, this helps keep me motivated to keep on posting. Enjoy 🙂
It was such a beautiful morning, I decided to take my coffee out on the deck to enjoy the cool, sunny, morning. As I settled into my chair, I noticed the Barn Swallow perched on the shepherd’s hook by the side of our deck. I quietly went into the house to grab my Nikon, and just as quietly and slowly, returned to capture a photo of the Barn Swallow, no more than 15 feet away. Well 2 shots and he was gone. They move so quickly, it’s tough to get a photo of them in flight. So, camera still in hand, I decided to get a couple more pictures of something less elusive, the Columbine flowers. Enjoy your Memorial Day holiday today. Thanks to all of our men and women, who have served to keep America free.
