Driving through farm country today I was enjoying the beautiful sunshine and blue sky. I came upon this old farm house amongst a plethora of wind turbines. Technology has come a long way since the day this house was built. What was once perhaps a dairy farm with livestock such as cows, horses, chicken, pigs, sheep, and goats; is now a wind farm with no live stock and from all appearances, no human inhabitants. If only houses and walls could speak, what tales they would tell.
Okay, it has been over a month since my last post… where has the time gone? I have missed posting photos, but I’m not sure if I can keep up the pace of another 365 post a photo a day, especially using my Nikon. So, since I always have my iPhone 4S with me, and it takes really great pics, this year will be devoted strictly to phone photography. I do have the WordPress app on my iPhone. So, Happy Valentines Day to everyone, and watch for the iPhone pics in this blog.
I wanted to experiment with shooting portraits with 1 light. It’s hard to find a willing guinea pig to sit and pose for me. So, another self portrait opportunity. I shot this with my camera tethered with Lightroom 4. I like being able to see the shot right away in a larger format than the lcd screen on the back of the camera. I especially like shooting tethered for self portraits so I am not running back and forth checking the lcd screen. I used a pair of Yongnuo receivers that I bought on Amazon. These are great for triggering your camera remotely and also for off camera flash. They are reasonably priced too. Here is a link to the Nikon version that I use, Yongnuo RF-603 N3 receiver. Make sure you choose the correct model for your camera. The link is from my Amazon Camera shop. If you do make a purchase, I will receive a small commission.
