Day 216 – Old and New

Walking through downtown Lexington, Kentucky; what caught my attention was the contrast of old vs. new buildings. I wanted to show that contrast in one photo.

Day 215 – Fire Escape

The Opera House fire escape, Lexington, Kentucky

We drove down to Lexington, Kentucky today. Vicki is scheduled to take the practical exam to complete her Certification in Partial Dentures, giving her certification in two specialties, Dentures and Partials. Vicki is co-owner of the Schmitt Dental Lab. As we were driving through downtown Lexington, we noticed the Opera House, and I especially liked the way the fire escape looked, the black steel against the red brick. I hope to have a little more time tomorrow, after Vicki completes the practical exam. Good luck Vicki, I know you will do well.

Special thanks to Bradley for stopping by inspite of the loud motorcyles, and the 50 caliber cap gun sounding off, you can see Bradley was a little nervous, but he still was brave enough to pose.

We had a heavy dew this morning in Frankenmuth, Michigan. I took an early Saturday morning stroll to the Frankenmuth Visitor’s Center and captured the day lillies covered with morning dew.

If you’ve never been to Frankenmuth before, you owe it to yourself to visit. Frankenmuth is also known as “Little Bavaria” and is a Sister city to Gunzenhausen, Germany.

In search of the unusual, what’s more unusual than a hippie van decorated like that? This is actually called the unusual junction.

Day 107 – Zehnders at Dusk

One of my favorite buildings in Frankeknmuth, Zehnders. I took this picture just before dark, at about 8pm. The clouds are pretty spooky and make a nice backdrop. I really like the effect the lights have, creating a warm and inviting glow.
