Years ago, shortly after Vicki and I were married, we purchased an old brick farm house. It was a real “fixer upper”, to say the least. Have you ever seen the movie, “Money Pit”? One of the features of that old house that we both loved, was the brick work. Each of the windows had beautiful arches and the orangey red, bricks looked warm and solid, and helped us to feel secure, like a house should. We put a lot of sweat into that old farm house, and we lived in it for 10 wonderful years. It was a sad day when we had to move due to a job relocation.
This old vintage brick farm house reminds me of that house we lived in years ago. The brick work on this house is more ornate with a little more attention to detail. I like the way the builder inlaid the diamond on the face of the house, just under the peak. The house is very worn, with cracked wood, and a porch that is falling apart; and the surrounding trees practically hide the house from those who drive by, but it still has a majestic character about it. Love those old brick farm houses!
